This is the first time that the Council is bringing together its thematic on rule of law and its thematic on WPS in a broader scope. The concept note for the open debate is attached and notes that the intention for the debate is to focus on key issues including how transitional justice mechanisms can better address the full range of violations experienced by women, gender sensitive reforms of transitional justice mechanisms, and justice sector reform post-conflict which places women’s access to justice, full participation in the justice sector and equal access to all rights including economic and social rights as priorities.
