About the Fragile Truths Podcast
In twenty episodes, aired between April 2021 and June 2025, KPSRL has given the floor to more than forty partners, researchers and practitioners. In this series, KPSRL and its partners have worked to unpack the latest evidence for our field, often showing that the assumptions underlying our sector’s work are often fragile.
The channel accumulated 192 Spotify followers and 3030 total streams or downloads across its twenty episodes. With its most popular episode on the legitimacy of traditional authorities in Mali and Niger reaching 267 downloads and streams, the podcast has offered a platform for policy makers, academics and NGOs to connect and disseminate their work.
The podcast offers a structured and intellectually focused exploration of how academic research connects with real-world policymaking. Each episode highlights a new study or innovative approach, followed by a conversation between the author of the discussed publication and a practitioner or policy-maker who may be the one implementing the insights from the publication. Episodes conclude by drawing together the key implications for both researchers and practitioners, providing a clear and considered link between theory and application.
