Call for Nominations: Access to Civil Justice in the Sahel

West-Africa
The World Justice Project
Burkina Faso Cameroon, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal,

Dear Friends:

I am writing on behalf of the World Justice Project, an international nonprofit devoted to advancing the rule of law through nonpartisan research and advocacy. We recently launched a qualitative research project studying how local innovators are solving everyday legal challenges in the Sahel region of West Africa. Would you kindly spend a few minutes nominating a program or policy that is working to improve civil justice outcomes in any of the following countries?

  • Burkina Faso
  • Cameroon
  • Mali
  • Mauritania
  • Niger
  • Nigeria
  • Senegal

You can read more about this study in our invitation to contribute. However, here are key details to consider before submitting a nomination:

  • All responses are confidential, and the entire process takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.

  • We are specifically looking for programs and policies that are actively working to improve access to civil justice.

  • With support from the Knowledge Management Platform for Security and the Rule of Law, WJP will contact nominees to conduct in-depth interviews, focus groups, and site visits in Africa.

  • Our findings will be freely available, online and in print, at no cost to readers.

To nominate a policy or program, simply complete this online form before February 1, 2020. Alternately, you can send me an E-mail at jhaley@worldjusticeproject.org to set up a phone interview with our research team. If you are willing, please do share this message with any colleagues who may be qualified to participate in this study.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Joseph Haley, PhD
