The 10 Conflicts to Watch in 2018
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the International Crisis Group collaboratively present this lecture on The 10 Conflicts in 2018. Robert Malley, the new CEO of the International Crisis Group, will visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday 6 March to give a lecture on the most ominous threats in 2018.
Malley previously served in the Obama administration as Special Assistant to the President, Senior Adviser to the President for the Counter-ISIL Campaign, and White House Coordinator for the Middle East, North Africa and the Gulf region. He also served as Special Assistant to President Clinton for Arab-Israeli affairs and Director for Near East and South Asian affairs at the National Security Council.
Malley will speak about the following 10 conflicts: North Korea, VS/Saudi rivalry with Iran, Rohingya Crisis Myanmar and Bangladesh, Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria, Sahel region, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ukraine and Venezuela.
Besides speaking about these conflicts, Malley will address how the policies of the Trump administration could influence a few of these conflicts, like the VS/Saudi rivalry with Iran.
