The Overarching Post 2015 Agenda - Council conclusions

This policy document reveals the conclusions of the Council in the context of the wider post 2015 agenda. Engaging in in the wider post 2015 agenda including agreeing a post 2015 framework is a high priority for the European Union(EU) and its Member States, which stand ready to engage in an open and constructive dialogue.

Acts which are directly relevant to the lives of EU citizens and have a considerable international impact are adopted by the Council, usually in conjunction with the European Parliament. The Council is the EU institution where the Member States' government representatives sit, i.e. the ministers of each Member State with responsibility for a given area.
