Making SDG16 Work for the Rule of Law and Access to Justice
This public event will discuss progress on Sustainable Development Goal 16, on Thursday, 28 September, at the Peace Palace in The Hague.
The discussion on SDG16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions – will give special attention to Fragile and Conflict Affected States. The official programme can be found here.
After a welcoming word by Dr. Bernard R. Bot, Chairman of the Carnegie Foundation, and the opening by Marcel Smits, Program Director Europe at the Institute for Economics & Peace, presentations will be provided by Dr. Sarah Lister, Director of the Oslo Governance Centre, UNDP; Dr. Ilaria Bottigliero, Director, Research and Learning, International Development Law Organization; and Dr. Helder da Costa, General Secretary g7+ Secretariat. Talia Hagerty, Research Fellow at the Institute for Economics & Peace, will present the IEP Progress Report on SDG16.
The presentations will be followed by a Q&A and panel debate.
