Biography
Christina's research interests include peace and conflict management studies with a specific focus on the intersectionality of business, forced migration, and the meaningful inclusion and participation of women in fragile and conflict-affected situations. Currently, she is a Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science, Chair of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education, Business for Peace working group, and Co-Chair of the International Crisis Group's Ambassador Council. Christina has extensive experience conducting risk assessments and social audits for an array of organizations, including the International Labour Organisation and the European Parliament. She authored a report on the “Inclusion of Women in Peace Processes,” for the European Parliament; served as a civil society representative for the European Union’s working group on the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda; and contributed to a European Parliament-supported study on a progressive European foreign policy agenda. Christina is a member of the network for Academic Friends of the European Peacebuilding Liaison Office; Co-Opinion Network's study group on youth employment in the Middle East North Africa region; the Hollings Center's working groups on Profits to Peace, Iraq's Foreign Policy and Economic Challenges, and U.S.-Egypt Relations. She is Co-Founder of the Women in Foreign Policy Turkey chapter and has participated in and led numerous Track II dialogue initiatives throughout the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey. Christina received her Ph.D. from the Department of Politics and International Studies at the University of Warwick in the U.K. She focused on the impact of the private sector on human security and peace in fragile and conflict-affected states. In her case study, she delved into the Turkish private sector's impact on economic security and peace in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Christina received her M.A. in International Peace and Conflict Resolution and B.A. in International Relations from American University in Washington, DC.
