Biography
International affairs professional with over 15 years experience in human security (rights and democracy), non-violent conflict resolution and humanitarian issues in Eurasia/MENA. Expertise in directing strategic policy and partnerships (convening, coalition building) and risk assurance of high-risk programming and advocacy. Operational management experience (at scale) in highly fragile and conflict affected contexts. Excellent analytical skills, and expertise in delivering high-level policy advisory products and services. Advocacy work includes global campaigning on sensitive political issues (from human rights to human security). Special focus on development as freedom, and making change happen in authoritarian and violent contexts. Programme design, planning, management and evaluation experience. Expertise in conflict-sensitive humanitarian and development policy and programming. Extensive expertise in protecting civic space, including through substantive international election observation expertise. Fulbright and IREX graduate research fellow. US national, bilingual in English and Russian, as well as some knowledge of Bulgarian and Farsi.
